危在旦夕

太史慈是三国时期吴国的著名将领，他年轻的时候就武艺高强，很有心计，远近闻名。当时大名士北海相孔融听说了太史慈这个年轻人，对他非常欣赏，认定他是难得的奇才，很想与他结交，于是便多次派人去看望他的母亲，并向他的母亲赠送了丰厚的礼物。这让太史慈的母亲非常感动。

当时还是东汉末年，黄巾起义风起云涌，孔融为防侵扰，出兵屯驻都昌这个地方，结果被黄巾军管亥包围，情势十分危急。正好太史慈由辽东回家，母亲便命他去救助孔融。她说：“你和孔融并不认识，但是他在你走后，派人非常周到地照顾我的'生活。今天他被敌军围困，你应该赶紧去救他啊!”

太史慈赶到都昌城下，趁夜间找机会进入城内，拜见孔融。孔融便派太史慈去找刘备搬救兵。太史慈来到平原，对刘备说：“我与孔融非亲非故，但都是讲道德仁义的人。今管亥乱，孔融被围，危在旦夕。您有仁义之名，能救人之急。因此孔融让我冒着生命危险突出重围向您求救。”刘备闻言，恭敬地回答：“孔融知道这人世间有我刘备这个人吗?太看得起我了。”刘备于是立即调遣精兵三千跟随太史慈驰救都昌，黄巾军听说有救兵前来，便四散而去。
