In May 2014, the national "energy industry to strengthen airpollution control program of work" proposed that China’s SNG supplycapacity will reach 32 billion Nm3 by 2017. In June 2014, thenational "Energy Development Strategy Action Plan (2014-2020)" alsoproposed to implement SNG demonstration projects, promote SNG technologydevelopment and upgraded industrialization demonstration. In the past two years,however, because of environmental and economic issues, the SNG projects aredisputed. ASIACHEM believes the existing large-scale SNG units will providevaluable experiences for the following commercial projects, includingtechnology selection, project construction and management, plant operation andtalents reserve, waste management, pipeline construction and peaking etc. China's huge marketpotential of natural gas, as well as the rational expectations of future energyprices rise, so investors are still optimistic about the prospects for SNG.China’s SNG industry has made a series new progress in 2015. Suxin energy willbuild environmental upgraded SNG project. In March, Hubei Energy announced tojointly invest a big SNG project with Three Gorges Group, and SHCCIG. In April,the Ministry of Environment Protection received EIA application report ofSinopec Xinjiang SNG pipeline project. In the 2015, Ordos Government willcontinue to promote the Huineng, Beikong, Hebei Construction Investment, CNOOC,Xinmeng, and Huaxing SNG projects. 6th Coal to SNG Conference will be held in June 29-30 2015 in Beijing, China.
