Sr Sales Support Specialist, UOP CAS, Beijing-00170893 Description UOP is an international supplier of process technology, products, engineered systems and technical services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing and energy industries and is a leader in the research and development of petroleum and petrochemical processing. We have one immediate opening for Naphtha Products Sales Technology Specialists in the CA&S Refining & Petrochemicals business.
This position is a key role in supporting the CA&S Sales process for Reforming and Isomerization technologies. The initial focus for these positions is to support all naphtha catalyst sales efforts in China, including new units and reloads. Job scope includes regular interaction with UOP's external customers and with UOP personnel, particularly CA&S Sales and the sales support team in Des Plaines. This position will also be working with three other Sales Technology Specialists located in China covering other UOP technologies. Qualifications • Participates in customer discussions for new unit, "take-away" and "incumbent" reload projects to provide technical sales support and develop an understanding of the customer's needs and expectations in order to meet or exceed customer requirements and increase satisfaction.
• Supports execution of all new unit and specific strategic "take-away" and "incumbent" reload programs through identification of target customers, development of business case for specific opportunities (including yield estimates), input on strategy for sales event (blue sheet), preparation of technical proposal and technical appendices, preparation and/or delivery of sales support presentations and direct customer meeting support.
• Collects customer intelligence on regional market trends and competitor strategies and products. Provides information to Global Catalyst Sales Support Manager and Product Manager for subsequent analysis and feedback to UOP's Product Line Operating Team and business management.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of the catalyst capabilities including our value propositions of UOP Catalyst, Adsorbents & Specialties business unit concentrating on the assigned area of expertise, and becoming recognized internally and externally as a technology expert.
• Develops and maintains a basic knowledge of the Fushun manufacturing plant operation, capabilities, and personnel, as well as supply chain for reforming and isomerization catalysts.
• Works with local sales account manager to conduct a project analysis on key regional wins and losses in their respective area to ascertain reasons for winning and losing and make recommendations to improve future sales efforts. Lessons learned will be fed back to Global Catalyst Sales Support Manager and Product Manager for subsequent analysis and action.
• Participates in voice of the customer exercises to obtain feedback on our product & service quality, development and sales process. Identifies customer and market needs and translates them into product requirements that steer R&D programs for new product development.
• Working in conjunction with the Global Catalyst Sales Support Manager, supports launching of new products through identification of target customers, development of business case for specific opportunities (including yield estimates), input on strategy for sales event (blue sheet), preparation and /or delivery of sales support presentations, coordination of commercial trials and direct customer meeting support.
• Interacts with UOP's Technical Service organization to ensure that Technical Services are being provided to units operating with UOP products. Reviews service call reports and sales call reports for customers in his or her assigned regions to stay on top of customer activities, needs, and issues. Uses above information to look for future Sales opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Reviews loading reports and determines if there are any product loading issues, and ascertains field loaded densities. Provides feedback to the Product Manager regarding any quality issues or adjustments needed for commercial density representations.
• In times of peak demand beyond UOP Technical Service capabilities, provides independent catalyst performance yield estimates to support a catalyst sale or catalyst performance evaluation and coordinates the development of valuable and consistent tools for efficiently delivering service. Reviews YEs generated by Service and/or R&D related to assigned are of expertise.
• Regularly communicates with and shares best practices with other Sales Technology Specialists located in China covering the other UOP technologies.
Additional Accountabilities:
• Prepares material and participates in regional Technical Symposia and Sales meetings.
• Becomes Six Sigma Green Belt certified through a Honeywell sponsored training program.
